Ukrainian Village

This hot neighborhood is found in Chicago’s West Town Community – predominantly Haddon, Thomas, and Cortez streets between Damen (2000W) and Leavitt (2200W). Built 1886-1920’s, there have been 2 additions to the district since that time. Today, it’s popularly recognized as 800-1200N and 2000-2400 West.

As gentrification moved west and south from Wicker Park, this area has grown in popularity. The restaurants along Division and long-term stability of the neighborhood has made it a destination for many Chicagoans.

Many Ukrainian landmarks remain in the district, including:

• St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral
• Volodymyr & Olha Ukrainian Catholic Church
• Ukrainian National Museum
• Delta M – the largest and oldest Ukrainian goods store in the U.S.
